How to contact Experian

If you need to contact Experian, you can do so by phone, through their website, by email, or by post.

What is Experian's contact number?

You can call Experian's customer service team on 0115 828 6738.

This is a toll-free number within the UK, and you can reach them Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

How can I contact Experian through their website?

Experian also offers you the option to contact them directly on their website.

Go to the Experian Contact page, select your problem from a list of common issues, fill out the form and click "Send".

The helpful things about this option is that you'll also be able to see:

  • when the Experian team is offline (for example, because of a bank holiday);
  • guides that might answer your question;
  • and related questions.

How do I email Experian?

You can email Experian's customer service team at [email protected]. We recommend you include as many details as possible so that Experian's team can help you faster.

They might also need to verify your identity, so you should have a or PDF of your ID nearby.

How do I send Experian a letter?

If you want to contact Experian the old-fashioned way, or you can't do it by email or phone, you can send them a letter explaining your problem at:

Experian Ltd

Customer Support Centre

Nottingham

NG80 7WF.

How do I make a complaint to Experian?

If you have an issue with your Experian account or credit report, you can file a complaint through the same website contact page or by calling the same Experian number.

However, if you want to send your complaint by email, you should email [email protected].

What happens after you submit your complaint:

  • Experian will first review it.
  • Then, it will send you a confirmation message within 5 business days. They may also contact you to ask for clarification.
  • If the complaint concerns their affordability checker service, they might take up to 35 days to respond.
  • For anything else, they aim to solve the issue within 8 weeks.
  • In this case, they will write to you to explain why they need more time.
  • If you're still unhappy, they will also provide you with a set of next steps that you can take to find a solution. For example, if your complaint is about your credit report, they might advise you to talk to the Financial Ombudsman Service. The Ombudsman is a free, independent public service that aims to help you solve disputes with financial businesses like Experian.

You can reach out to the Ombudsman via:
