Income Volatility in America. 2017 Pew Report

A new Pew Charitable Trust report dropped this week detailing their latest findings of Income Volatility in the US.

Their classification of income volatility is based on a change of over 25%. Even with that high a bar over one-third of all US households experienced volatility during the timeframe of their report.
